To become a citizen, you must meet the following requirements:
1. Be 18 years of age at the time you file your application;
2. Had residency for the last 5 years (3 if you obtained residency through marriage)
3. Physically lived in the US for 30 months of the past 5 years (18 months during the past 3 years for those who obtained residency through marriage);
4. Can read, write and speak basic English;
5. Demonstrate good moral character;
6. Demonstrate knowledge of and understanding of U.S. history and government;
7. Express loyalty to the principles of the U.S. Constitution; Willing to take the Oath of Allegiance.
